Fenchurch is another one of those brands I’ve been meaning to tell you about. Sometimes its so obvious I forget. Hailing from London, this brand does the whole “mature-skater-indie” thing quite well. They have an extensive selection of both men’s and women’s styles, and you can buy on-line at ARK. The designers of Fenchurch (who named the company after a place they used to skate), who already made their own clothes decided to take it to the next level and make clothes for people like them, who were searching for a style they could identify with. After many late-night sessions the idea to create Fenchurch was born. Be sure to check them out!

This (long) weekend I spent most of Monday catching up on work for this week and cleaning the condo. Instead of subjecting my neighbors to the usual Zion I, Tahir and Dead Prez, I thought I’d listen to the radio. In Boston our version of hot 97 is “Jamin’ 94.5.”
Now I admit its been a while since I listened to the radio for longer than a short car ride… but it was ridiculous. The literally played the same 5 songs over and over and over.
Akon- Don’t Matter, Ludacris- Runaway Love, Jim Jones- We Fly High, Rich Boy- Throw Some D’s and the highlight of this mix Mim’s This is Why I’m Hot:
This is why I’m hot.
I’m hot cuz im fly.
You ain’t cuz u not.
This is why, this is why, this is why I’m hot.
What?! I mean… what do you even say to lyrics like those? No wonder the masses are dumbing down. Will all do respect to Mr. Mims making his money and doing his thing, I find music like this to be downright atrocious. I’m not one of those preachy people who thinks that all rap should be conscious … I love me some Chamillionaire and even some Lil Wayne… even if I don’t feel everything they’re rapping about, at least they have complex lyrics and/or a complex flow. This song is straight up trash. After hearing for the 4th time in under 2 hours I did, in fact, turn off the radio. I suggest you do the same.
