Sky & Boat

Every now and then I hit a fashion slump. Fashion slumps lead to writers block and the website sits for a bit… (I prefer to think of it marinating in its own style until something amazing comes along). Anyway, I think part of my problem is the slow change in season here on the east coast. Forty degrees in April is enough to make anyone want to stay inside and hide out until its 70 degrees. My closet full of sleeveless contraptions and light weight pants mocks me as I climb into yet another long sleeve shirt, sweater and jeans.
Times like this remind me of my summers on the Cape and my one summer on Fisher’s Island. Its that longing for a warm breeze, muted summer sun and soft blue sky. One really great memory from a few years back was bombing around Fisher’s Island Sound in a rickety Boston Whaler with my friend Damien and this other kid, whose name I’m forgetting right now. I remember sitting back in the boat as the nameless kid drove, and Damien used a little pail to remove water from the boat’s leaky bottom. I stared up at the sky and, despite the fact the boat was filling with water at a disturbingly rapid pace, I felt totally relaxed. I share all this with you because one look at Sky & Boat‘s smooth, relaxed clothing line is enough to evoke similar feelings and enough to inspire a post. The clothes are simple, clean and actually have me believing that summer is right around the corner… be sure to stop by and stock up!
