I totally need a personal assistant!! I’m usually pretty good at dealing with the “big things” but the little things like… obtaining my own internet account, have proven to be quite problematic. I mean, who has time to wait around for these peeps to come set things up? My inability to wait for people to come to my place to set things up is the reason I don’t have things like… cable. I mean, are they serious? He’ll be there between noon and 4 o’clock?! Don’t they know I have a life?!
Anyway enough venting. I’m sure I’ll figure things out one way or another.
Today’s designer is Habitude… which rhymes with attitude, which I guess is fitting considering my rant!
Habitude is a design-oriented company with a strong belief in protecting and respecting the earth’s natural resources through all of their business and personal choices. The company’s aim is to offer sustainability AND style to the eco-conscious consumer.
Designer Laura Chapuis always wanted to start an organic and sustainable fashion business, one which worked in partnership with the planet. By 2005, Laura had been working in the fashion industry eight years and she was finding it less and less meaningful. So, after 10 ears studying and working in New York, she packed up and moved south to Texas (Yeee haw!)
Inspired by Gandhi’s quote “be the change you want to see in the world,” and Texas’ natural resources, Laura created Habitude. It’s her take on fashion in partnership with the planet. The compnay uses organic and sustainable fabrics and produce everything domestically. The line has an overall casual feel, but it can be dressed-up, too…. each piece is relatively simple but has a unique detail to make it special.
Enjoy!
