I have so many things to be thankful for I don’t know where to begin. Instead of going into some sort of mushy discourse, I figure it’s best to show my gratitude through my actions. You know, random acts of kindness and all that. It’s amazing how little things like offering up your seat on the subway, buying someone a random cup of coffee or even offering a smile can make a huge difference in someones day. Take for instance, this morning on the subway. Crowded. Rush Hour. Rainy. Gross. As people smooshed themselves inside, smacking each-other with damp umbrellas, I was literally shocked when a kind person sitting near me offered me his seat (I was a bit loaded down with work-stuff). That simple act turned an otherwise dreadful situation into one that made me smile.
When I got off the T I was literally drenched by this deluge of water and wind that inverted my umbrella and left me frizzy. Instead of being bitter, I shook it off and continued on to work. As I walked, I passed an officer doing a road detail. He looked MISERABLE. I thought of my friend on the T and as I passed I asked him if he wanted any coffee. You would have thought I offered him a million dollars! Thanks to T-man, Officer Soggy got a warm cup of joe. Maybe he’ll be compelled to “pay it forward” and will go easy on the next speeder (based on my driving record, it could very easily be me!)
Anyway, enough with the feel good stuff. On to today’s designer, Rebecca Duyzer of Replicca Clothing. She runs this independent company in her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario. I love her cozy designs!
