All this gift-guide/ gift-giving / thinking about other people stuff, has really got me thinking about myself and my love for fashion. I never said I wasn’t selfish! Here’s a little  interlude brought to you by Kimberly Ovitz (xox the Brown connection). Her collection is great and any one of her pieces would make a great gift gift! More about Kimberly:

Kimberly Ovitz has quickly made her mark in the fashion industry since launching her eponymous label in Spring 2009. KIMBERLY OVITZ is a lifestyle collection for women consisting of timeless minimalist pieces with a modern edge. The collection, which embodies Kimberly’s personal style, was inspired by two core influences in her life - the minimalist art and design she was exposed to while growing up and equestrian lifestyle. Born in 1983 in Los Angeles, Kimberly always knew she wanted to design and has dedicated her life to pursuing her passion. Kimberly took up riding at age nine and spent her youth as an equestrian, a lifestyle that would provide part of the foundation for her line and help to shape her core aesthetic. At age 14, Kimberly had her first fashion internship at J.Crew. Kimberly sought to learn all aspects of the fashion industry, interning at Harpers Bazaar and apprenticing with the late photographer, Herb Ritts. The summer before attending college, she took an intensive course at Parsons New School for Design which armed her with the technical know-how. Rather than continuing on the trade school track, Ovitz enrolled at Brown University seeking a well-rounded liberal arts education. During her time at Brown, Kimberly continued her practical fashion education, interning at W magazine and apprenticing at Chanel in Karl Lagerfeld’s Rue Cambon design studio. After graduating with a degree in art history, Kimberly returned to Los Angeles and joined Tara Subkoff’s design team at Imitation of Christ working as an Assistant Designer on her denim line. In 2006, Kimberly took a job as Assistant Designer at Ya Ya Clothing and in 2007 assumed the role of Designer at Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent. Equipped with valuable industry experience, at the prodigious age of 25, Kimberly ventured out on her own, debuting her first collection in Spring 2009. Kimberly has emerged as one of the leading new American designers and continues to evolve the line, while staying true to her signature uncomplicated style and core aesthetic of minimal sophistication, sexiness, and androgyny with equestrian undertones. Kimberly presented her third collection, Spring 2010, during New York Fashion week at Milk studios in September.
