Ah NYFW… As easy as it would be to cover everything that’s going on there, I figure you’re getting it from about a dozen different sources… I mean, you can’t click on a fashion site without getting an interpretation of the shows. I had plans to go to NYC this weekend (and actually for most of this week which I had taken off) but my real job beckons so here I am… instead of giving you my thoughts on the shows I thought I’d share images from Ana Lerario‘s breathtaking collections. About the designer:
A few years ago, designer Ana Lerario presented her debut Lerario Beatriz Collection to a pleasantly astonished crowd. The feminine, catchy and sophisticated collection, whose trademark has become an intricate blend of hand made details and an edgy concept, won the buyers and the press’s attention with its innovative femininity, and keeps acquiring followers amongst the best boutiques in the world.
Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ana Beatriz Lerario moved to New York in 1998 after graduating with honors from Universidade Santa Marcelina, Brazil’s most prestigious Fashion Design School. Upon her arrival in the city, Ana continued her education at Parsons School of Design until she started working with Marc Jacobs, where she was soon appointed Designer, a position she held for 4 years, working directly with Marc on his main line.
After gaining valuable experience at Marc Jacobs, Ana decided it was time for a change. Always looking for new challenges, she left Mr. Jacobs design team and was named Head Designer for TseSay (TSE Cashmere’s diffusion line), where she was also involved with TSE Cashmere’s main line, at the time designed by close friend Richard Chai.
Ms. Lerario stayed 2 years at TseSay and consulted for a few New York based designers until she decided to start working on a project very close to her heart: the opening of a Wholesale Showroom and the launching of her own Collection.
Ana began with Fiftytwo Showroom. Located in a beautiful and spacious loft in Tribeca, Fiftytwo has become a must go to buyers and the press, successfully representing a selection of carefully chosen collections, ranging from Jewelry to Swimwear, from Accessories to Ready-to-Wear, including Ana’s own line Lerario Beatriz.
An effortlessly sharp yet delicate line, Lerario Beatriz has established its trademark with Collections punctuated by intricate shapes, ethnic touches and handmade embellishments. Throughout the seasons, Ana Lerario’s interesting color pallets, bold choice of fabrics and large attention to details have guaranteed an ever growing number of fans, enamored by a line Ana describes as “a mix of beautifully done clothes with couture touches, that enhance the woman’s figure in a feminine, approachable way”.
Speaking of Marc Jacobs …. I am obsessed…. ok, fine, I had to add a little NYFW commentary!
