Day Dreaming with Jessica Harris

I think sometimes, if you don’t remove yourself entirely from your comfort zone (your scene, your people, your routine) things start to become stagnant. It’s so easy to get seduced by the lull of complacency… you know? This weekend I”m going to take a little trip out of my comfort zone– need to get that creative spark going again… as well as some much-needed perspective! Speaking of creative, I love Jessica Harris’ dreamy and creative collection.  More about the designer:

Jessica Harris is an American Fashion Designer based in Rome Italy. Her designs are researched womenswear pieces intended for fashion loving girls with youthful spirits. Jessica’s collections reference art imagery, antique objects, vintage clothing, pop culture, irony, and her general tendency towards day dreaming within her romantic Italian surroundings.The Alta Moda (high fashion) training Jessica received at Rome’s ‘Accademia Koefia di Alta Moda e Costume’ is reflected in her detailed construction techniques and use of precious and innovative materials and embellishments. All Jessica Harris garments are handmade with care in Italy using special high quality fabrics sourced from Italian mills.

’38 Leopardo’ fashion boutique was opened by Jessica Harris in Rome’s Trastevere neighborhood in March of 2006. The shop’s interior is meant to be a large-scale dollhouse where playing dress-up brings the collections to life. Jessica is a two time participant in Rome fashion week (www.altaroma.it) and all collections are on display at ’38 Leopardo’ along with a selection one of a kind dresses, separates, and accessories. Jessica is available for special orders and bridal.
