get inspired by something

What an interesting summer this has been! I can’t believe it’s already mid-August.
I thought you’d enjoy Billy and I to start off your week. A cool collection driven by an equally cool concept. Enjoy:

Billy and I is about relations. It becomes clear already in the name. It’s both about me (as in I) and Billy, the reference point. What is it with relations? Why this urge to “relate”? Cannot one just confine on the own conception of the world? “I am a grown up, I can figure out stuff for my self”. Really? The truth is there is no truth. Every statement, every feeling or thought, has a point of reference. Knowledge and understanding is created thru communication. It is born in the very interaction, in ones’ relation to another.This is were inspiration comes from; you don’t just get inspired, you get inspired by something.

Billy and I is clothes. We love fine material, like silk for instance, and to use these material in an unexpected way. We also love how a single garment can have several expressions depending on the wearer. One can say that our designs are driven by styling ideas. In our world, the wearer (the “I”) is in charge and clothes is a mere tool. Billy, however, is the source of inspiration. It can be music or arts, or people. It’s just love. We don’t like to dictate a certain style or ideal. We want to inspire.
