Friends With Benefits

There is so much I want to write about these days . . .  but work, life, and my writing class (fiction. . . but at least I have an outlet!) keep getting in the way. Until I have the time to share my wonderful insights on the industry, I can at least feature some of the most creative designers in it, here. Case in point, Friends With Benefits. Great label, gorgeous design, and a lovely story about how it came to be. Visit their site, learn more on NJAL:

Friends with Benefits was founded 3 years ago. Life Partners and Co Founders Clark Sabbat / Design Director and Lynn Levoy / Creative Director bring a combined 20 years of expertise. Sabbat attended the Parsons School of Design for fashion design and F.I.T for women’s tailoring and pattern-making. After finishing school Sabbat then began working on his own then eventually ended up working between Paris and New York for various design houses. Levoy graduated from Boston University and has gone on to work as a publicist for some of NYC’s top Public Relation firms as well as a fashion stylist for a celebrity clientele. What sets FWB apart is besides being business partners they are also a loving couple with 2 beautiful children. A chance meeting at Barney’s NY 14 years ago where Sabbat was briefly employed, they became friends and kept in touch. Through life’s twist and turns they lost touch and reconnected 11 years later at a fashion party. Both were at a new stage of their lives , they smiled at each other and have been together ever since. Their love and respect for each other and their love for fashion help propel the collections forward creating designs that are being closely watched by fashion insiders.
