One of my biggest obstacles as a creative is getting stuck in the process. Just this weekend I opened a brand new sketch pad and actually got sort of intimidated by the number of crisp, clean, expansive white pages. I had a concept I wanted to try, but wanted to do the pages justice. Silly, right? The whole point of being creative is to have fun and to experiment. Ideally, its finding perfection in the imperfect.
Baron Fig and Debbie Millman celebrate this notion with their quirky journal, Askew. Askew is a truly unique, 192 page notebook in which every line is hand drawn. Some cooperate—and some are downright unruly (ha!). The pages welcome free form expression and spontaneous design.
