Do you ever sit around and wonder, what happens to antiquated/ outdated law books? Ok, I’m sure you don’t, but I do and I was super excited to find Kathy Kelly’s awesome company Bookbags! Kathy works as a law librarian for a law firm in Erie, Pennsylvania. She created her line using repurposed book covers from outdated lawbooks and I am totally obsessed!!
I can’t wait to get mine! By the way Kathy, you really should market these awesome bags to law schools…

Nothing like a little fashion/ Stanley Cup playoff action to end a long day! Go CHI! On the fashion front, I am loving Olesia Makhonko’s designs. Olesia developed her natural talent by attending weekend classes at a local Fashion and Design school… when she was twelve!
Spotted by David Foley of Oxford Media and Business School, Olesia was invited to study in Britain and took an internship at Alexander McQueen, working closely on his Paris SS06 collection. In 2007 the “Olesia Makhonko” brand was born.I love these distinctive designs!

I don’t even know where to begin with this week. Lets start with the fact I am over a month behind on my emails (sorry if I owe you one, that’s what this weekend is for!). Anyway, its Friday!! Enjoy these fun designs from emerging designer Magdalena Stark!

Even though one of my resolutions this year is to slow down… I couldn’t help but FF all the way to pre-fall 2010. If these looks from Pringle of Scottland are any indication of what next fall has to offer, I may actually enjoy shopping for the colder weather! Speaking of the cold… it’s freezing here in Boston!

How gorgeous are these textile designs by Eunsuk Hur?! Love them!
Eunsuk Hur is a textile designer who is looking to push the boundaries of fashion and interior design by exploring different materials and approaches leading to new textile futures. She graduated in 2009 from central Saint Martins School of Art and Design with a degree in MA Design for Textile Futures. Her final year project selected for the CSM Contemporary Collections is chosen to represent the best of CSM 2009 and also selected for the Casamica Talent Scouting in salone satellite at the Milan Salone del Mobile 2009.
She uses laser cutting and various printing processes like sublimation printing on wood, acid printing on wool felt, etching onto leather as well as handcraft techniques. The user/ designer has the choice of color, shape and textiles that can be altered over and over again, thus creating a sustainable product.
Growth, transformation, and regeneration are essential parts of her pattern design process.
She is definitely one to watch!
Thanks to Coolhunting for hunting down this talented artist!

At least that’s the plan… we’ll see how motivated I get. If you’re in the Boston/RI area, be sure to stop by the Selah D’or trunk show at the Calico Pop-Up Shop on Tuesday, the 29th! See you there! Also be sure to stop by Calico’s blog, love it!

It actually hurts to be up this early. I suffer from that “I do my best thinking in the morning” curse, which I guess is better than the “I don’t think at all curse” . . .
Before I finish my coffee and digest the news of the day I thought I’d share my odd obsession with Virgina Sin’s ceramic paper plates. I freaking love these! Virginia’s awesome collection was inspired by the lack of quality paper plates (whatever that means) and aimed to address the issue of sustainability. She re-interpreted the design using actual paper plates to make the moulds and mixed shards into the clay. Once fired the paper burns off and the plates become as light as the real thing. They are glazed on both sides making them microwave and dishwasher safe.

* Yes, that is a semi- quote from that annoying Britney Spears song. Sorry.

Today I thought I’d share one of my favorite designers, Erica Tanov… I absolutely love her look…
I have tons of stories/ designers/ new finds to share with you but I should already be on my way to work right now so hopefully this will tide you over until next time. Enjoy the day… and party like it’s (the end of) 2009 tonight!

Who says lonely hearts are no fun!? I love these bags from Miss Lonelyhearts designer Jenny Yuen. All of Jenny’s pieces are all hand made with love in New York City and in limited quantity… they’re the perfect combination of charming and mischievous (hmm…. where have I heard that before?) . . .
Ok, time to get motivated to walk out into the mess-that-is-Boston today. Seriously? I can’t deal with the rain/snow/slush thing…
I will leave you with some stuff to click:
Don’t forget to check out Archie Grand below…
I love the Gap, but those cheer commercials are driving me CRAZY… however, I had a lot of sun sending personalized e-cheers to my friends last night (if they weren’t so annoying, they wouldn’t be so much fun to send!)
