I wrote about Malene Birger back in 2010 and was recently reacquainted with this designer and her beautiful SS12 collection. I would literally wear every single piece in this sexy, colorful and versatile collection… well, except maybe anything that resembles a harem-pant. I just don’t get those.

I feel like a work-robot lately. You know, like I’ve been on serious auto-pilot. It’s great when you become efficient enough to maneuver through a day like that, but it can also be somewhat uninspiring. I am definitely pulling an EHS this weekend and delving into creative endeavors. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been in an art store, which is completely unacceptable!

Along with artistic friends to light the fire under what appears to be a solidified mass of unused creativity, I’m fortunate enough to review innovative designers like Momoko and Kiho whose concept and designs add fuel to the flames. (I feel like I’m in Ms. Holcomb’s 7th grade English class: “Now create a simile to describe your current state of creativity… I digress…)

I love these designs and I am OBSESSED* with those awesome bracelets worn in the second picture. Like, I must have.

Here’s more about the label:

COINONIA is a fashion label designed by Momoko Hashigami from Japan and Kiho Kim from Korea. They established COINONIA in 2010, Milan and launched their first 2010-2011F/W collection in Paris.
The name is inspired by the Greek concept of “Koinonia” – sharing, relationship, and communication. It is an idealized state of relationship, an idea of harmonized participation in a team. COINONIA is a label of two designers collaborating as a team while sharing their creativity, passion, and philosophy for fashion and life. They wish to create COINONIA also among its associates and clients, and between the garment and the wearer to give a new idea to everyday life.

Why a post about coloring books?
First, a co-worker was talking about them… Then, I saw a couple hipsters with one on the subway yesterday. Plus, it’s Wednesday. You’re halfway through the week, so it’s ok to be a little silly.
