Though the official start of spring was all the way back in March- May has always signified “true spring” to me- flowers, allergies, warmer weather, etc.
With May, comes spring cleaning. Getting rid of the old, and making way for new beginnings. I started with clothes this weekend and will move on to more… weighty things as the month progresses winky face>.
Getting rid of things is hard… that couture DVF that doesn’t fit (in a good way, thanks to @ and @), that shirt that might (but most likely won’t) come back into style, and that guy… you know, that guy. It’s our tendency to hold on… it’s effortless, it’s comforting, it’s often easier than purging.
Nevertheless, spring cleaning (for me) is a necessity.
One of the best things about getting rid of the old (I hope you donate the good stuff to places like Lotus House) is making way for the new. An excuse to embrace the unknown and update the outdated.
What better way to update than with classic pieces that will never go out of style. That’s the goal right? To get to a place where everything you own is beautiful and timeless.
