I woke feeling inspired… which is always a good thing. Especially on a Friday. I know I have tons of emails to respond to and designers to post… you know how I can be though. For all of my amazing qualities, flightiness is not one of them! Anyway today’s designer is Cali-based Kucoon. I am officially obsessed with Andrea Spratt’s inspired designs. Usually I have no problem picking what picture to post to represent a brand… but in this case I literally wanted to post the whole portfolio. Her stuff is off the hook! Her partner Sheila B. Andrea has created a lovely jewelry collection and the combination of the two creates a creative, unique and ethereal beauty. Kucoon is for the girl with a flair for the theatrical and who wants to create a little magic in her world. The brand uses organic elements like cotton, leather, feathers and crystals juxtaposed with the unexpected frivolity of stripes, ruffles and lace in their collections. Speaking of ethereal beauty, you have to check out MAC’s Cremesheen lipstick collection. The stuff is amazing. So rich and creamy and lasts all day!
Don’t even pretend like you don’t have one. Every girl…every guy… (unless he is one) has a friend who is, yes I said it, a manwhore. You know exactly what I’m talking about. You make plans to go out with him on Friday. He shows up wearing some “fresh” ensemble reeking of designer cologne. You arrive at the club (or bar if you live in Boston). He orders a Gin and Tonic if he’s metrosexual, Patrón or whatever the latest rap song has in the hook if he’s “urban,” and a good old fashioned Budweiser if a “man’s man.” You talk with him… you laugh with him… you turn around to get another drink and BAM! All of a sudden he’s gone. You search the club for him, to no avail. You step outside to call him and the phone goes straight to voice mail… and then you know. The manwhore has struck again. If he’s a relatively successful manwhore, this whole series of evens generally happens around 12-1 am. If his game is weak?

Look for this to unfold right around 2am (yes ladies and gentlemen, that’s when clubs and bars close in Boston). The next day he will awake, find his way home, fall back asleep. He’ll call you sometime around 3-4pm. As annoyed as you are for his unexpected departure the night before, you’re generally amused by his stories and you’re always glad that he’s your friend.

Why not reward your manwhore with a cute little gift from Ho On the Go (again, I just post… I couldn’t make these things up if I tried).

Ho on the Go was coined by designer Sunny Merry’s girlfriend, Tiffany Norris (yes Sunny Merry’s parents were hippies, in case you were wondering). S.M. was speeding out the door one night for a night on the prowl. She threw a toothbrush and a fresh pair of undies in her bag. Her friend Tiffany said, “Oh is that your Ho on the Go bag?” And thus, the idea was born. Today? Ho On the Go has an adorable selection of gift packs and t-shirts, sure to please your friends… with… shall I say… relaxed morals. I was going to dedicate this post to a certain someone… but I think I’ll just buy him a manwhore pack as a joke instead. Who am I kidding? He’ll use that thing the weekend after he gets it ;-).
